We offer 4 types of finishes.  There isn't one finish that suits everyones needs,  just like there isn't one guitar to suit everyones needs.  Some companies,  or builders only offer 1 type of finish,  or charge high upcharges for different finishes.    Our sunburst options are covered on the options page.   For our finishes we offer.

1. Varnish,   a great finish.  It looks great,  and it's super for tone,  but easier to damage than other finishes.   Some charge astronomical upcharges for a varnish finish,  but it's available from us with no upcharge.

2. Nitrocellouse Lacquer.     The finish for guitars for decades.   It's harder than varnish,  and looks great.  Available with no upcharge.

3. Urethane,  also called Polyurethane.  This is a 2 component catalyzed musical instrument finish.  It's not the stuff you can buy at home improvement stores for furniture and cabinets,  and it isn't an automotive finish.   Tougher than varnish or Nitro,  but still a light flexible finish.    Available with no upcharge.

4. Polyester.   The toughest, hardest to damage finish I know of for guitars.   Used by alot of big companies,  and smaller builders.   It's not my favorite finish,  but some people love it.    Due to recent supplier problems I'm not offering Polyester finishes at this time.  I'm working on a new supplier so I can offer Polyester finishes soon.

We'll work with you to choose the best possible finish for your needs instead of just spraying your guitar with whatever finish we like.   Sunburst's are available for an extra charge.  See our prices and options page.
